Picture "Position II" (2007/2012)
The "Position" series is one of Imi Knoebel's more recent cycles. His trademark of radical reduction and the use of hand-painted plastic foils continues in these works. We present the more complex pieces of the series, in which Knoebel places eight rectangles next to each other in a harmonious colour composition and creates a second picture plane with small rods.

About Imi Knoebel
Imi Knoebel, born in Dessau in 1940, studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy in the class of Joseph Beuys. He developed an independent visual language early on, characterized by uncompromising abstraction and clear geometric forms.
