About Pablo Picasso
1881-1973 - Artist of the century from Spain
“Painting is stronger than me; it forces me to do what it wants.” (Pablo Picasso)
At the age of 12, he could already paint like Raphael; by the time he was 20, no university professor could impart any great knowledge of art to him. When Pablo Picasso died at the biblical age of 91, he left the world an oeuvre of over 40,000 works - and the certainty that he was the most important artist of the 20th century. Anyone wishing to buy a Picasso painting is therefore choosing a work of historical significance.
For many collectors, being able to buy a work by Pablo Picasso is a lifelong dream - an expression of style awareness, appreciation and passion for great art. Pablo Ruiz Picasso (Oct. 25, 1881 Malaga - April 8, 1973 Mougins) spent his life searching for new forms of artistic expression. He always combined a tireless wealth of ideas with a radical will to innovate. His works show modern art in constant motion: lively, changeable and full of expressive power. Buying a Picasso original means acquiring a unique piece that preserves this creative energy.
His work remains timeless because it does not subordinate itself to any one scheme. Women, harlequins, guitars, doves and bulls - all these motifs permeate his unmistakable style. This is why many art lovers consciously decide to buy Picasso paintings in the original, in order to get very close to this rich diversity.
He had his first exhibition in Barcelona at the age of 19, and soon afterwards he moved to Paris - the center of the avant-garde. Some of his most famous cycles were created there. Cubism, which he developed together with Braque, and works such as Guernica mark turning points in art history. In later years, he increasingly turned to graphic techniques. If you want to buy a Picasso lithograph today, you are immersing yourself in this phase of his work.
Not only canvases, but also paper became the stage for his artistic ideas. If you want to buy a Pablo Picasso picture, you will find impressive, sensitive compositions in his works on paper, which often reveal more than large-format paintings.
The drawings are a real insider tip. They provide a direct insight into the creative process. This is why many collectors specifically choose to buy a Picasso drawing - expression and idea in their purest form. Works from his prints are equally coveted: Buying a Picasso print means immersing yourself in the world of his lines and forms.
Works signed by Picasso are of particular value - they give the artwork a personal dimension and increase its exclusivity.
Limited edition reproductions also attract attention. If you want to buy a high-quality Picasso print, you are investing in a work with aesthetic and cultural weight - often the start of a deeper passion for collecting.
The legendary auction of the collection of Dora Maar, Picasso's muse, has shown the impact his works still have today. Hand-signed works from this period are rare jewels - a reason for many collectors to specifically seek out a Pablo Picasso hand-signed work.
Buying a Pablo Picasso original is much more than an investment - it is a statement of art, freedom and visionary expression. Even today, his exhibitions are still attracting record numbers of visitors worldwide and make it clear that the fascination with Picasso remains unbroken.
