Detailed description

Picture "1985" (2016)

This is a single sheet from the Kieler Woche 2016 collector's folder. Every year a poster selected by a jury is published for Europe's largest annual sailing event in Kiel, Germany, called Kieler Woche, which is also available in a limited edition as a hand-printed collector's edition.

At the ceremonial opening of Kieler Woche 2016, the Mayor of Kiel and the Minister-President of Schleswig Holstein each received a folder with 6 award-winning poster motifs from 30 years. We offer the other 15 copies of the portfolio as well as a limited edition of the individual sheets on ARTES.

ARTES is the exclusive publisher of the sheets and portfolio, which were created under the patronage of Professor Bernhard Stein of the Kunsthochschule Kassel.
Participating artists are Doris Casse-Schlüter (1985), Rosmarie Tissi (1990), Henning Wagenbreth (2009), Melchior Imboden (2011), Ariane Spanier (2012), Stan Hema (2016).

The colour screen prints were created using classic pigments in the award-winning hand screen printing workshop Kreuzberg in Berlin.
