I CAN BUY MYSELF FLOWERS
July 6 - August 31, 2024
In a cross-epochal exhibition, ARTES sheds light on the essential role of the flower in the history of art in the 20th and 21st centuries, presenting a penetrating look at the development of this timeless motif.
“I can buy myself flowers” reflects not only the aesthetic qualities of the flower, but also its profound symbolism and cultural significance throughout history.
From the structured elegance of Classical Modernism to the bold vitality of Pop Art and the innovative perspectives of contemporary artists, the exhibition offers a unique insight into the many ways in which the flower has been depicted as a symbol of beauty, transience and transcendence.
