LA GIUDECCA COLORATA (1997) (complete portfolio)

The last graphic work 1994-2000

To mark Hundertwasser's 90th birthday, his previously unpublished last graphic work was entrusted exclusively to ARTES by the Gemeinnützige Hundertwasser Privatstiftung - a unique opportunity to purchase a Hundertwasser artwork that had previously been hidden from view.

The last graphic work 1994-2000 comprises a total of 7 screen prints (5 of them in the portfolio La Giudecca Colorata), 2 editions of color etchings, 4 Japanese color woodcuts and the 23 color etchings of the Doodles, created by Hundertwasser since 1985 and printed between 1996 and 1999. They are documented in the catalog raisonné published by Taschen in 2002 under the HWG (Hundertwasser Graphik) numbers 111 to 124 - a source known to many collectors who wish to purchase an authentic Hundertwasser work.

More about Hundertwasser's last graphic work

Hundertwasser was a master of original graphics. Anyone looking to buy an original Hundertwasser print today will quickly realize that he not only mastered numerous printing techniques, but revolutionized them - including lithography, screen printing, etching and colour woodcut. His prints are particularly sought after: many collectors appreciate the opportunity to buy a high-quality Hundertwasser print that shows his creative diversity.

Hundertwasser was never interested in mass production - he rejected large editions and preferred variety. This is precisely why it is considered a privilege to be able to buy a rare Hundertwasser color etching or an original Hundertwasser color woodcut. Each sheet tells its own story. Colors, details and printing techniques vary within a series - a truly unique piece within the edition. If you want to buy a Hundertwasser etching, you should pay attention to these individual differences.

Owning a work from Hundertwasser's last creative period means becoming part of a unique chapter in art history - hence the growing demand from collectors who specifically want to buy a Hundertwasser print or a special Hundertwasser picture.

Artist, architect and activist

Hundertwasser was more than just a painter: he was an activist, architect and ecologist. He fought for a more life-friendly world with emphatic manifestos, actions and happenings. His visions are reflected in his works - one reason why many people consciously buy Hundertwasser paintings, which convey a message beyond the visual.

Since the 1950s, Hundertwasser has realized over 40 architectural projects worldwide. He fought for organic forms, the right to windows, spontaneous vegetation and living houses - an attitude that still fascinates today and motivates people to consciously want to buy Hundertwasser - out of conviction, out of respect, out of love for nature and art.
