Until June 24, 2024, the Museum Wiesbaden is presenting sculptures by the internationally renowned sculptor Balkenhol from the Old Masters Collection under the title "Stephan Balkenhol meets Old Masters".

Visitors with the Balkenhol look

A particularly charming event took place on February 22. Visitors to the museum were invited to visit the exhibition in the iconic Balkenhol look. Black trousers and a white shirt are the trademarks of Balkenhol's figures. The best-known motif is that of the standing man, which the sculptor varies again and again.

Focus on people

The uniform-like clothing with white shirt and black trousers does not allow any interpretation of a personality, the standing man is therefore absolutely generic and universally valid. It is up to the viewer to discover the stories behind the faces gazing into nothingness.
