Mike Strauch - TEMPLE

30 October - 21 November 2020

The works of Mike Strauch are an intense painterly exploration of the surrounding landscape and architecture, which he sometimes imagines and composes.

Simultaneously, we are displaying works of Classical Modernism in our gallery.

The landscape is the overarching theme in the works of Mike Strauch (born in 1966). Throughout history, the landscape and the forest have been seen as symbols of the possibility of self-renewal and the dimension of the unknown to be explored.

Strauch explores seemingly unknown dimensions with his painterly, expressive odes to nature.

The obvious traces of painting such as drops, splashes, and drips as well as colour gradients and undifferentiated parts of the picture, present the artist's process-oriented and open approach, which he does not conceal, smooth out, or cover-up, up but rather openly reveals to viewers.
