As a plein air painter, Christoph Bouet realizes his raw, original landscapes directly on location, in the spirit of the Impressionists.
As part of his exhibition at Galerie ARTES Berlin, we spoke to the artist and accompanied him in his work.

The extraordinary works of the painter Christoph Bouet (*1974) and the sculptor Stephan Balkenhol (*1957) are complex and could not be more different - at first glance. Yet the selection of the artists for this exhibition suggests a comparison of their works if only because direct references are definitely the order of the day: the use of "open" materials and materials - be it the rough unadulterated beauty of Balkenhol's wooden figures or Bouet's expressive layering of color in oil. The result is a tactile appeal whose deep resonance invites us to let the distinctive works of the two artists become a haptic experience.
