Stefan Szczesny (*1951 in Munich) has left his mark on contemporary art. His studies with Günter Fruhtrunk, an early fellowship in Paris, and stays in New York, the South of France, the Caribbean, and the Villa Massimo in Rome had a lasting influence on the artist's work.
In the early 1980s, Szczesny was instrumental in the "Neue Wilden" movement. He initiated the exhibition "Rundschau Deutschland" in 1981 as the first presentation of the movement and thus brought expressive, figurative painting back into the consciousness of art in Germany. Szczesny's works are now shown worldwide in numerous museum, solo and group exhibitions.
Our exhibition "Painting Paradise" features new paintings and sculptures, including for the first time large, museum-sized canvas tableaux on which the artist spreads out his entire pictorial archive.
We look forward to your visit!
