Our gallery in the middle of the Scheunenviertel is the best place to discover this oldest still contiguous district of Berlin.

The lively and popular quarter between Alexanderplatz, Hackesche Höfe and Oranienburger Straße invites you to discover the numerous restaurants and bars, small stores, boutiques and galleries.

Restaurants and Bars

Few places in Berlin offer such a variety of restaurants and cafés as Auguststraße. So there is plenty to discover.

Clärchens Ballhaus has been a Berlin institution in the immediate vicinity of our gallery since 1913. Heinrich Zille used to sit and draw at the bar here, Otto Dix painted the advertising poster that is still used today and Quentin Tarantino filmed scenes for "Inglourious Basterds" here.
The menu includes German classics such as schnitzel, Königsberger Klopse and Maultaschen.

Our tip: a drink in the large beer garden in the sunshine.

For those who like it more international and casual, we recommend Shiso Burger.
Japanese-inspired burgers with shrimp, tuna, eggplant or tofu bring together Western and Eastern food culture.

The authentic Al Contadino Mozzarella Bar & Bottega and Bar Hackbarth's are located on the so-called Gipsdreieck next to our trusted frame builder.

Our insider tip: at Sophienstraße 30 you can still find real home-baked Berliners/doughnuts/pancakes made according to an old recipe at "SammyS Berliner Donuts".

For the mind

Lovers of art and design books will get their money's worth at the Do You Read Me? bookshop at Auguststraße 28.

A beautiful selection of special magazines and books.

Those who prefer a more classic style will find the Tucholsky bookshop at Tucholskystraße 47 with a well-curated selection of novels, non-fiction and children's books.

And where should I park?

The area around Auguststrasse is typically quite crowded in Berlin.

It is therefore best to park your car just 450 meters from our gallery in the PARK ONE underground car park at Tacheles.

A short walk of 6 minutes will take you directly to us. On the way, you can stop by the New Synagogue, a building of outstanding importance for Berlin's Jewish history.

Alternatively: at weekends we also recommend the underground parking garage of the St. Hedwig Hospital, access via Krausnick Straße.

We look forward to your visit!
