Detailed description

Picture "Woman leaving red car" (2019)

James Francis Gill's career began when gallerist Felix Landau organised his first solo exhibition in 1962. In the same year, MoMA in New York purchased two of his works, and in 1967, he represented the USA at the 9th São Paulo Biennial, along with artists such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein.

One of the milestones of his career was the release of the edition titled "Woman Leaving Red Car," which was reissued in a very limited number of copies. This painting, featuring a woman stepping out of a car, was able to spontaneously convince gallery owner Felix Landau, among other things.

The original colour serigraph was created in 2020, with an edition of 100 copies and 10 E.A. copies on handmade paper, all numbered and signed by hand. Motif size/sheet size 75 x 58.5 cm. Size in frame 80 x 63.5 cm as shown.
