To describe his application of paint as "impasto" would be an understatement, to say the least: Christoph Bouet literally scoops the oil paints onto the canvas, creating a surface structure that is more reminiscent of a relief than a painting.
In a pictorial language between impressionism, expressionism and abstraction, he uses his unusual technique to present very special perspectives on motifs that he finds in Germany and Europe. The three-dimensional effect makes his landscape paintings absolutely unique.
In the following video, Christoph Bouet, born in 1974, offers a brief insight into his working method.
