Object Art

Object art refers to works that deal with found objects (objet trouvé).

These are sometimes modified and presented in the context of "art", more or less intact as in the readymades of the Dadaist and Surrealist Marcel Duchamp or as part of an assemblage.

Picasso was, as so often, a pioneer. From 1912 onwards, he began to incorporate newspapers and things such as matchboxes into his cubist collages and to create his cubist constructions from various collected materials.
